FAQs
What is seedstock?
Seedstock operations are considered genetic suppliers, and genetic improvement is often a key focus of a seedstock cattle operation. Seedstock operators are also known as breeders.
Seedstock cattle are breeding cattle typically registered with a breed association. Our cattle are registered with the North American Piedmontese Cattle Association. They have documented pedigrees and estimates of genetic merit, such as expected progeny differences.
do you sell beef?
You can purchase our beef through our new beef label Manzo Piedmontese. For more information, please visit Manzo Piedmontese or contact us.
why is your beef so healthy?
Piedmontese beef is naturally lean, low in fat and calories, yet high in protein. This is the result of the Piedmontese breed's naturally occurring inactive myostatin gene giving it a distinct predilection for developing lean physiques with heavy musculature, producing beef that does not rely on fatty marbling (common in other breeds of cattle) to achieve tenderness.
do you offer farm tours?
Yes! We love sharing our farm and breeding operations. To schedule a tour, please head to Farm Tours.
Where are piedmontese cattle from?
Originating from the Piedmont region of Italy, the breed was first introduced to North America in the 1970's and today are raised by select family ranchers.
